Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Anand Prakash, the publisher of the Sanaatan Dharma app ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app or this website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app you get from the App Store.
The app
Sanaatan Dharma is a free devotional app: a digital mala for Naam Jaap, Panchang and festivals, Aarti, Mantras and Chalisa, Sanatan Gyan, and information about sacred places. You can use it without an account. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
Devotional content and Panchang
- Content is shared for devotion and learning. It is not medical, legal, financial or astrological advice.
- Panchang details (tithi, nakshatra, sunrise, muhurat, festival dates) are calculated for your approximate area and can differ from local traditions or other almanacs. For important ceremonies, please confirm timings with your family priest or local panchang.
- Traditions vary across regions and sampradayas. We present widely followed practices with respect for all paths; if you find an error, please tell us.
Your account
- An account is optional. If you create one, give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- If you are under 18, please use account features with a parent or guardian.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account.
Using the app fairly
Please don't:
- break the law, or use the app to harass, harm or mislead others;
- send abusive, hateful or spam messages through feedback or contact forms;
- try to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the app, its servers or other people's accounts;
- copy, scrape or resell the app's content, or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows.
We may limit or suspend access if these terms are broken.
Content and ownership
Scriptures, mantras and prayers are part of a shared sacred heritage. The app's design, artwork, translations, explanations, code and the Sanaatan Dharma name and logo belong to us or to those who licensed them to us, and are protected by law. Images and videos from third parties remain the property of their owners. Feedback you send may be used to improve the app, without any obligation to you.
Links and promotions
The app may link to other websites, videos and services, including clearly marked "Recommended" or "Sponsored" items. They open outside the app and are run by others, who are responsible for their content, products and privacy practices. We may earn a commission from some links at no extra cost to you. Worship screens never show promotions.
Availability and changes
The app is free and provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we may change, pause or remove features or content at any time, and some features need an internet connection.
Disclaimer and liability
To the extent the law allows, the app is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on Panchang timings, content or third-party links. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account in the app. We may end or suspend access to the app or an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or if we stop offering the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute. If we change these terms, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
